Star Wars - Obi-Wan Kenobi - Interstitial

Jun. 2nd, 2009 | 08:56 pm
posted by: little_oracle in luna_station

Medium: Movies
Fandom: Star Wars
Subject: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Title: Interstitial
Warnings: none
Notes: My favorite version of Obi-Wan Kenobi is the one you don't see on screen. His journey from General to Crazy Old Wizard fascinates me no end. One would think all his Jedi training left him a bit unprepared for what went down at the end of Revenge of the Sith. This mix goes through my speculations of what ran through his head during those 19 years on Tatooine. It starts just after his arrival and follows him through his initial grief, anger at the necessity of another war (the rebellion) and finishes as he runs into Luke and the droids, preparing himself to do what he must to 'wipe out the noise' of the Empire.

Batman - Nightwing/Oracle - When We Started We Had High Hopes

posted by: little_oracle in luna_station

Medium: Comics
Fandom: The whole Batman family
Subject: Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon
Title: When We Started We Had High Hopes
Warnings: none
Notes: Poor Dick and Babs. They've known each other since they were teenagers, starting out as Robin and Batgirl. They've loved each other forever, and still haven't been able to make it work. Maybe someday they'll get another shot.

Saturday Night Live - Tina/Jimmy - King & Queen of Saturday Night

Medium: Television
Fandom: Saturday Night Live
Subject: Tina Fey/Jimmy Fallon
Title: King & Queen of Saturday Night
Warnings: none
Notes: Total cracked mix. I heart the Tina/Jimmy pairing. As they toiled away behind the Weekend Update desk they played with the sexual tension enough to make me love them forever. Tracklist with commentary behind the cut.

Spaced - Tim/Daisy - Making a Home From a Rented House

posted by: little_oracle in luna_station

Medium: Television
Fandom: Spaced
Subject: Tim/Daisy
Title: Making a Home From a Rented House
Notes: This is a silly, sappy, romantic mix inspired by the wonderfully geeky Spaced. It very loosely follows Tim and Daisy's slow realization that they really do love each other. Say it with me now... awwww!

Torchwood - Jack Harkness - You Only Live Twice

posted by: little_oracle in luna_station

Medium: Television
Fandom: Torchwood/Doctor Who
Subject: Cap'n Jack
Title: You Only Live Twice
Notes: This is just a general ol' Captain Jack-inspired mix. It covers his imperfections, insatiable appetite for life, some time with the Doctor, the war years... just the whole package.

Real People - Julia Child - How to Make an Omelette

Jul. 30th, 2008 | 01:27 pm
posted by: little_oracle in luna_station

Medium: Real People
Fandom: Cooking Shows
Subject: Julia Child
Title: How to Make an Omelette
Notes: I grew up watching Julia Child cook and absorbed her techniques like a sponge during my formative years. She's the reason I fell in love with cooking and when I became a vegetarian, her teaching came right along with me. I just finished reading her "My Life in France" which has me now longing to go visit Paris and learn the language. It also resparked my lagging cooking muse. Thank you Julia!

This mix is about food and France and Julia, all 6'2" of her.
